works good

What caught my eye on this soap since I do a lot of different type mold making is some of the really good reviews on here about being safe and how it takes scent very well which I like a lot it's not a material that crumbles up or dissolves real easy and it is great for making soap molds which is really fun to make and it also melts really easy and my molds come out really good with no imperfection or pitted holes. Thank you

GREAT SOAP BASE & FOR A PRETTY FAIR PRICE, TOO! I'M PLANNING TO BUY MORE!

I've been having a difficult time finding a clear enough soap (as well as one a bit cheaper than the Crown Jewels!) for embedding items in my baby-related soap bars. MY LAST EXPERIENCE: I found what I thought was a 'good deal' on a 5# block of clear soap, ordered it and in due time it arrived. It might just as well been April 1st when I opened it--and I was definitely THE FOOL!! I never saw such yellow STUFF purporting to be CLEAR Melt & Pour! It was basically OK if you didn't need clear. So I did use it in several other items that it worked out in, such as Oatmeal/Honey Facial Bars; French Vanilla Coffee Bars; Soap Petals: "Clear", Colored in Molds; etc. But I was STILL in need of a GOOD, Non-Yellow, CLEAR Melt & Pour, Glycerin as a supply that I won't have to take out a loan my grand kids'll be paying off when I'm gone. Hobbies are supposed to be fun-not give you strokes, migraines, heart-attacks, & appoplexy!! Enter ZenseMe 5.5# Clear Glycerin Soap Base! On the Website it looked like it was nice and clear, the price wasn't crippling (There was even an "extra" 1/2# compared to all the others). When it came (which was fast) it WAS NICE and CLEAR, as PROMISED. It was also packaged in the NICEST, heavy-gauge BOX, too. (A NICE HEAVY BOX, I can always find a use for, even if it's only to put away for the next gift that will fit it for birthday or Christmas.) All the others either came wrapped only in thin cellophane, in flimsy plastic boxes, or (a bit better) plastic tubs (at least you can recycle plastic tubs) . Now, I have a NEW "GO TO" BRAND for my CLEAR SOAP BASE. It has a lovely thick lather, mixes well with other additives and sets up nicely in the mold, just like you'd expect from a good quality soap. I know now who I'll be buying my clear glycerin melt & pour soap from, as long as they keep their prices in check. A few cents on the ounce are handlable, for a while at least. I'll e looking into different styles of soaps theyr may make as soon as I submit this review. As of now, I'm very pleased with the quality all across the board of their soap. I did hold back the one star in the last category: Value for Money: Due to the fact that it COULD be a bit lower in price and still be competitive. It seems to be in the soaps, that as soon as you get into a little bit of good value, the manufacturers seem to want to "make a killing" on every sale instead of being a little patient and giving the consumer a break for a change. We're all struggling with the economy, you know, try being part of a remedy once in a while instead of always having the claws out and grabbing at the consumers. You keep this aggressiveness going like this and we, the consumer will get fed up and you, the retailer will NOT like the result. It's happened before. Remember: Those who forget history, are doomed to repeat it!

Perfect for soap with visual effects.

If you need sheer glycerin, this is the stuff for you. It’s not to expensive and it’s easy to use; it also holds scents nicely too.

Block of Soap, NOT a Kit!

This was my first attempt at soap making. The title of the product and pictures are deceptive. This is NOT a KIT. It is 5.5 lbs of melt and pour soap base. At a minimum you will need a mold for the soap, if you don't have something suitable. I wrapped my completed soap bars in plastic wrap when done.I made two batches, after having had to buy soap molds. The first batch I left clear and just added toys for kids to see. It was clear and easy to see the toys. I added cinnamon to a second batch, all it did was turn the color into a light brown. I can't smell cinnamon. I also learned it's important to add safe for soap scents into the melt. Our local craft store has the candle and soap making scent mixed together and I bought scents for candles, that says on it in little print, do not use for soap.I've attached a picture of the "easy directions" on the back of the soap block. Yes, very simple and great way to start soapmaking. The instructions work, but I needed more. There is a video, I didn't watch theirs but did find other ones that were helpful. The soap is easy to cut and melt.It lathers nicely. It stays clear after melting. It requires a bit of patience, learning, and experimenting to make good soap.

Big Block of Soap

For some reason I thought this was more than just a big block of soup. Probably because the product images showed more than that but sadly its just that and nothing more. Since I'm taking responsibility for not reading the description better I can't help but give this product 5 stars since it is what it is; a big block of soap.I've already started researching some nice soap making sets so this "big block of soap" can one day fulfil its purpose. I know I'll appreciate the clear soap when it comes time to color and add rose petals to make pretty soap. In the meantime, it's sitting in the pretty box it came in.I would recommend to friends and family if they were looking for a big block of soap, which I'm sure they're not. ;-)
